Mentoring is a core element of the Social-Impact programme. We believe that mentoring should be professional (both structured and managed) and that mentoring is a service. The mentoring programme is based on trust (spend time, listen), two way partnership (mutual respect), long term relationships as well as clear expectations and commitments. The ideal mentor has mentoring experience or management experience in scaling an enterprise (non-profit or for-profit). The mentors’ commitment includes attending three facilitated meetings per year, contacting their mentee twice per month, being available for emergencies and providing feedback formally through the Social-Impact process.

We have a matching process whereby eligible mentors are connected with social entrepreneurs on an annual basis, depending on how well the background and skills of the mentor match the needs of the social entrepreneur.
